For the first time in this series, I'm happy of the result. I think it's by far the photo I prefer in all the Xmas light. perhaps merging the skill I learned with architecture photos makes it nicer I don't know... I had also chance having such a nice sky. It was slightly modified with the auto-levels option (giving even more impact and contrast in the colors) but it was already really nice in the un-processed photo. Oh it's totally manual exposure, and I'm not sure but I used manual focus often yesterday so perhaps this one is a manual focus photo.
I also looked at the c-fn functions of my camera, and made some changes, one I find really nice is about focus...allowing to choose quickly the focus area selected on the camera, giving less control to the camera, and more to the photograph ^^, quicker than manual focus and nearly as flexible... I'm beginning to be anxious... I still have at least tonight for Xmas light, and I'm not sure I can do better... I'm not even sure I can do as well... But stop talking about what is in my head. Do you (as me) think this is the best in the series? Do you see a place for improvement? (If so tell me, I'm so happy with the current result, I didn't even gave any critical look to this photo...:p) Have a good day, a nice week end and a merry Xmas!!!
Very beautiful :) Merry Christmas Cylille :)

Excellent ! J'adore cet angle ! Et ces branches enguirlandées qui nous surplombent nous donnent une impression de vertige, comme si on allait se prendre le batiment sur la tête !
And the red and blue tones are quite wellcomed !
Merry Xmas (in 3 days or so !)!

Les couleurs sont effectivement très sympas. J'en ai pris aussi. Je devrais les mettre en ligne un jour :)

@Regis: Je les attends avec impatience !!
thanks for your regular input to my blog cyrille! its always nice to see you made a comment. really appreciate your visits. for me, the first post is best. cant say why, but it is very similar to an illumination in japan, in Kobe, called the Illuminarie. it was started after the huge earthquake in the area of Kobe about 20 years ago, and it was meant to rebuild the area and to take people's minds off the huge disaster in which about 30,000 people died. it takes place in this season and is pretty spectacular. your first xmas post reminds me of that so maybe that is the reason. anyway, they are all good posts and being in japan (where they dont really "do" christmas like we do) its nice to see whats going on back in europe at this time of year. thanks so much for this series. happy christmas to you!

Beautiful vivid shot, Cyrille! It makes these decorations look like magic.
@Stu: The Kobe earthquake happened on January 17, 1995 at 5:46 am. They've rebuilt it so well that it's easy to imagine that it's already been 20 years. I agree the Illuminarie are wonderful. And I kind of miss spending the season in Japan where they don't really do it the same.
