FNL stands for France national library, it's a straight translation but the english acronym version works well so it's a nice title. First time trying a really long exposure (really long means more than 2 seconds for me :p). I read somewhere that little aperture (so, high f/stop... ) helps producing star like lights... now I can tell it's right. As you can see my camera is still working. But I've got a problem with the switch: the on switch as 3 positions off, on, back wheel fully enabled. The camera now, only works "on". It means I can do almost anything with it, except exposure compensation and full manual mode. I'll wait a little, at least until saturday but I think more like until after Xmas (hey Xmas photos are great and family likes beeing given photos) then I'll go to have it repaired if it still don't work It means checking the archives for my posts for at east 3 weeks (repair time it took last time I had a camera problem). Till then hope you'll enjoy the photos here. And thank you again for your comments, it stimulate my will to always better my work, and the advices had me correct some of my prejudice on photography, so keep saying what you think, it helps a lot (even photoshop advices are welcome ~_^).

Ahhh, a 5D man (jealous here LOL )
So I see from your comment you may be a purist (I do not photoshop my images kinda guy) or hardly do any editing. Oh well when you banging such cool shots above, why edit to mouch (although I detect a ting of photoshoping on this one ) )

@Suby: ^^ yep, Actually I photoshop my images for : colors, levels, contrast and resizing. But I must say I don't want to photoshop (and learn how to photoshop) before being sure I can't do it straight from the camera. I used an EOS 30 (or Elan 7 depending on the region) before the 5D so I guess it helps being so serious having direct result from camera. And yeah you're right there is some photoshop (level editing) here. As I said I can't modify the exposure compensation at the moment and it's locked at -2, but I think the unmodified version had better contrast.
cool - small aperture does make the stars - good technique! sorry bout your camera - mine is kind of acting up for long exposures (lots of hot spots) but I figure I'll live with it till the next generation of 20/30D comes out and then upgrade.

Very nice. I love the stillness, the amazing clarity, and the startburst. Keep drying that camera.
