at first i thought it was too dark around the edges and was a bit disturbed by it but it makes the reflection in the cobbles more of a feature. Its like our only lifeline to the light down the street - through a gauntlet of darkness.

(am i being too deep about this? )

I'm not sure if I would use the word mysterious to discribe it. The word "quiet" comes to mind. And the word "lonely" misses the mark. I'll have to think about this one for a while. I can tell you that I like it very much. And it definetly stirs an emotion in me.

I like the illuminated cobblestones as well and then way the path leads the eye into the photo to the door.

I'm not sure if I like the whole photo being this dark but I guess it conveys what you were trying to create and works in the regard. It has a kind of hidden dreamlike quality.

I like the darkness, it suits the titling of this most illusive quarry (congratulations again on finding it). I prefer this second image to the previous post as its far more atmospheric.

The empty black space on the left works very well here. It puts the lights and reflection off center and also emphasizes the mystery of this shot. Very nice mate!
